Anyway, I got a new PC now, and as i was browsing tru my photo’s, I found pictures taken at this place called “Wong Merah” in Lubok Antu. I went there with Sim and some friends. Place was awesome!

Party started off pretty quite till bout 9.45pm when more people started to turn up despite watching the World Cup… Crowd was awesome…. I was pretty amazed to see how things was very well organised. Thanks to DJ Monkey (playing the electro/techno mixes) and DJ Funkzu (playing the RnB mixes) who really made the crowd enjoyed the night. There was also this guy called Shawn Lee who was just awesome doing his beat-boxing performance. Damn! They really rock the place.

I did manage to take the chance to get to know some new people and ask their opinion  bout the party. 9 out of 10 says “This is the best party I’ve ever been to in Kuching” and the other one just said “dude, are you kidding me? I didn’t expect this party to be this awesome. It’s beyond my thoughts that it was this great”.

Anyway everything went well and we all hope that the next party will be even much greater than this….

Kimin, the elder brother of top Malaysian songwriter Asmin Mudin, breathed his last at the Likas Hospital here at 1.35am.

Asmin said his brother was admitted to the hospital just before midnight after complaining of breathing difficulties after taking a bath in his house in Kampung Rampaian, Menggatal, near here at about 10pm.

“His wife sent him to the hospital. While there he passed out and pronounced dead at 1.35am,” he said when met at the Jalan Kepayan Muslim Cemetery here.

Also at the cemetery were several local artistes including Abu Bakar Ella.

Kimin, from Kampung Kelatuan, Papar and the father of seven children, shot to fame in Sabah through the song “Sayang Kinabalu” composed by Asmin in 2000.

It was made the Sabah tourism theme song in 2008.

Asmin, who composed some of the country’s most memorable songs such as Kau Ilham Ku, Anggapanmu and Gemilang sung by Man Bai, Ziana Zain and Jaclyn Victor respectively, said the Sayang Kinabalu album sold 50,000 units so far.

I was suppose to be on the 4.30pm flight to Miri on the 5th but was stranded in Kuching airport for 2 hours… It made me even more frustrated and felt like should I be on this flight? Is the 2 hours enough to fix the plane?

Anyway, we left Kuching at about 6.30pm. An hour later i was in Miri…. Met up with few of my old buddies and hang out till late.

Because I came back home bout nearly 4 am I decided not to sleep coz at 5.30 am I had to leave to the airport again to catch on my flight to Bakelalan. This was the 1st time as a young adult I sat in a twin otter and the feeling was exited and SCARY…. as the plane was so small and tiny. I had to band down to walk in the plane and it had sits like the ones use in a public bus.

Later that day the villagers took us to the primary school to be with the Kids. (SKK Bakalalan). They too arrange some activities for us. A small tele match with the kids… It was so colorful and fun looking at them.

The next day till wednesday nothing much really happen. I hike up to the view point with on of the voleenter teacher for USA, name Blair Daly, and some kids. Walk around the villages. Owh ya, my flight was canceled on Monday due to bad weather. It was raining. In the end I used the Wednesday flight back to Miri, then back to Kuching the later that afternoon.

At its mouth the river forms the broadest estuary in Sarawak, as well as accommodating the largest of the four benak’s that occur in Sarawak.

Tidal bore or locally known as benak, occurs everyday with different wavelengths and heights. However, during spring tide, normally on the third and eighteen day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, tidal bores with high magnitude can be observed clearly. The ‘benak’ continues its journey another 30 km inland, ending near the small village of Engkilili.

Pesta Benak (Tidal Bore Carnival) in Sri Aman is one of the yearly activities in the Sarawak tourism calendar. The objective of Pesta Benak Sri Aman is to introduce Sri Aman town through tourism and encourage tourist from in and outside the country to visit Sri Aman. Apart from it, Pesta Benak is also to promote harmony among local community.

In conjunction with this phenomenon, many events were organized such as exhibition, food fair, karaoke competition, culture and art performances and others. Tidal wave festival has made the area a popular spot in Sarawak for visitors; you can join in the fun and hitch a ride with the longboats or just watch the boatman braving the waves. You can even immerse yourself with the local culture at the food fair, good music and dance performances that are part and parcel of the festival.
