BreakFree Youth Fest : Sarawak’s First & Largest INTER-VARSITY Youth Fest!

Basically this event is the brainchild of this group which we areunder called Champions whereby over the past few months we have been creating several youth based activities for our very own peers like the Champions Empowerment Series & Champions Bootcamp, again, all organised by us youths.

Here are some the links and activities we have done under the Champions program:https://www.facebook.com/ChampionsEmpowermentSeries?sk=infohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBLwIl6B3jU
Champions are a group of campus students for various Unis and Colleges which share one common thing: they have huge passion in doing something with a big heart and a right purpose that can bring changeto the landscape of the youth here in Sarawak.

Now the reason of  WHY we are organizing this youth festival. We simplyjust want to UNITE us youths, our peers regardless of our race, our religion, our background and even the football club that we support. We believe that through unity, we can inspire our friends to be that agent of change to go out achieve something as they share our passion too. And through this inspiration, we hence can revolutionize our wayof life and show the older generation, we are no longer the future of tomorrow but the future of today. Simply put, it begins now.

Well HOW we intend to do this is by coming up with a youth festival that will act as a social space for like-minded youths to cometogether and engage in the activities that they are passionate and keen about. It is no longer about the top guy with grey hair behind the desk stating this is what is what the youth wants, but rather, itis about the youth stating what they want and do it.

ALL designed, organized and hosted by the vibrant, exciting andpassionate Youth of Sarawak, the CHAMPIONS which is CO-CREATED withand strongly SUPPORTED by Jabatan Belia & Sukan Negeri Sarawak (JBSNS)and Ministry of Social Development (KPS).

Finally, the Champions is strongly and passionately supported by YOUTHWORKS ASIA, the organization that help started the whole Champions program.https://www.facebook.com/groups/championsfoundation/

The Day I Lost The Greatest Woman I In My Life

Born on 18th April 1927, Jen Anak Nyaru was my grand mother. She was one of the bravest, kind, awesome, hardworking person I’ve known my entire life who was called back to the Lord on 10th September 2011 at the age of 84. I know that this life in this world is just temporary and God gave us life for a reason and to archive something. My grandma had 6 children of her own, 3 sons and 3 daughters. And from there, she had 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

I remember when I was little, there was a lot of rambutan trees behind their house in Sri Aman, and she used to climb it on her own in the morning. Later in the afternoon she’ll walk to town to sell them just to get food on the table for us (her grandchildren). She also had a “small mini zoo” (what we used to called it). She rared ducks, chickens, dogs, pigs, cats & birds. She and my grandfather also planted things so we don’t have to buy rice, paper, coco, and other more which I can’t recall so we don’t have to buy them from town.

Back in 2008, the 1st time she got ill, i was a lil sad. I knew she will not have long to go. Never did I thought that she’ll live another 4 years bed ridden. But thank God with His strength she survived that long. I also know she is with Him there in heaven, peacefully there worshiping God.

We will all remember the good things you have done in our lives grandma. Thanks for showing us what life means when we were at the early age. We will miss you. Rest In Peace. =’(

A trip away alone…

3 weeks ago I decided to go away from Kuching for a while. It was for something else which after I bought my flight tickets it was canceled. So I decided to go away to relax and eat and meet some old friends.
After leaving KL for nearly 3 years now, a lot has change. So I left Kuching using firefly as it was very cheap. Only cost me RM175.99 and the flight was kind of fast. The only problem was the landing. It was terrible. This is one of the trips where I brought my camera with me but din’t take it out. Only used my phone to take pics of the food i ate.

This cost me RM17.50 and I was pretty pissed with the guy who sold me this…. Really killing people la like this!

At least this meal was worth it. Thanks to Azhar & his wife, my buddies from KL. This was if I can remember, Bali Mixed Rice – RM35. This was enuf to feed 2 – 3 people I guess.

This was the cheapest Fish & Chips I’ve ever had in KL. More to say it was in KLCC food court. It was between RM8 – RM9 I guess. But I had it with :

Baked Potatoes with herbs, cheese and mince meat @ KLCC for RM8.50

This was another dinner with Azhar & his wife at Peranakan in 1 Utama. Supposed to be spicy but failed to make me suffer the spice in my mouth.

These is one of Azhar’s Fav Dish. Chicken popia which was very nice…

These are just bits and pieces of the one week trip I had.

Broken Heart

You walked out when i tried to stay,
you said, “I am leaving.”
I told you i was waiting for that day to come,
You just didn’t understand how to read it.

It has always struck me on what and how does this work. After years of working as a freelancer, I realize that it is one of the most fun, enjoyable and unpredictable job. Working in a company in the other hand, is more time consuming and your hands are tied up!

Finally… I did it again.

After all these time thinking and wondering on which design, I made up my mind. Decided on what tattoo to be put on my back.
It was a very painful experience. Not like the other tattoo that i had. Anyway, Love the design so much. Thanks to Jeremy from Monkey Tattoo.
